Girl Vs Guy

I know am treading a very touchy topic. Am just presenting facts here.

I've been fortunate [unfortunate?] to go shopping with women friends. Fortunate, because, your legs get the day's/week's workout in the 2-3 hours spent at the outlet. If the outlet is as big as the Lifestyle showroom in chennai citicentre, sometimes the "shoppers" would have done 4-5 "laps" of a particular floor, the male being led. If we were to trace the path, brownian motion would lose out. The opposite sex just lose themselves inside the shop. Their eyes lit up, like the way a cricket batsman's when he sees a loose ball coming at him, and their instinct just leads them [just the way a batsman's instinct leads him to chase the ball to the boundary]. If only the bowlers were as generous as the retail outlet's dress collection. For a girl, all of the display is appealing. Inside the shop, the visual trigger is too much for her to resist. The comfort and the ease with which they step in and merge and become one with the shop is a lesson in "bonding".

The only other comparable experience for me... has been when i enter into hmmm... a Sports shop. The visual trigger on seeing the bats, racquets and more of them is just too much to resist.

And am led .. again! and i lose myself!

Know what, these outlets should have a mini bar counter where we can relax, grab a beer and maybe watch some football while the women folk get their shopping done!

For once i have to agree "When women are depressed, they eat or go shopping. Men invade another country. It's a whole different way of thinking".....Nice one KK!!

Its all about the experience KK!! Shopping isnt just the act of falling prey to visual triggers and walking out zombied by the objects on offer and quite a few rupees less. Its that AND the whole experience of therapy, bonding, negotiating and regretting! hehehe!!
By the way, you dont have to go to Lifestyle or Shoppers Stop or any one of those fancy rip-the-customers-to-pay-for-the-
airconditioning-shops, the junk jewellery shops in pondy bazaar will bear witness to the very same emotions!
Kudos to the shopping ambidexterity of us women!
